The « Beaux Arts » museum is one of the most famous, old and beautiful museum in France. It's situated in Dijon, in the town center. On the first side, there is the museum and on the other side of the building, there are the City Hall, the «Beaux arts» school and the tourist board. In 2008 it has been renovated.Today its area is 5000 m2. History : It has been built in the fourteenth century for the dukes of Burgundy, who were Phillipe le Hardi, Jean sans Peur, Phillipe le Bon and Charles le Temeraire. It was their palace. After the death of Charles le Temeraire, a lot of french kings stayed a while here. The tombs of the dukes are still there. In 1767, the beaux arts school opened and then the Museum. It's only in 1799 that it has been opened to the public. In 1809, it became the city hall of Dijon. But during the WW2, they decided to hide the collection because Germans pillaged every museums. Unfortunately, they broke some beautiful statues. Art collections : This museum is very various thanks to its different collections. There is the statues's room with some Roman statues. There are a graphic and a modern collection. The museum exhibit the work of local artists and European artist during the Renaissance too with different artistic moments. That's why the museum is very famous. In Dijon there are other museums like Magnin museum, the museum of the Burgundy life, the archeology museum, but the most famous is really this one ...
In history, covered markets were always strategic places and centers of attention in the heart of cities.
Markets of Dijon were built from 1873 till 1875 in Dijon, in Burgundy .First the plans are established by the architect of the city of Dijon and ended by his successor, the engineer Clément Weinberger. The structure of these markets is metallic.Of a total height of 13 meters, the building covers 4400m ². He shelters 246 shops. The arrangement of the roof is strongly inspired by that of the central Les Halles of Paris with the same style of skeleton . The monument presents a succession of arches and columns. The big arcs is decorated with animal motives and with symbolic themes relating to covered markets : heads of roe deer, wild boar and Cérès who is the god of the harvest and Hermes who is the god of the exchanges and the business. Today covered markets are always places of life and exchange in Dijon. And we can find there a large number of local producers and the jewel of regional the gastronomy . We are going to talk to you about the amusement parks in Burgundy. Actually, there is not a lot of them in our region... For example, the two most “famous” amusement or zoological parks of Burgundy are the “Parc de l'Auxois” and the amusement park of the “Combes”. Actually, both are located in Burgundy but the “Parc de l'Auxois” is located in Côte d'or (our department) and the amusement park of the “Combes” is situated in Saône-et-Loire. Let's talk quickly about these two parks. The “Parc de l'Auxois” is a zoological park with about 500 animals of 90 different animals species ! But there are attractions too but rather for the children... But ! And this is what I prefer (even if I never go over there), there is an aquatic park ! With (sure) swimming pool and slides ! ♥ Moreover, to eat, there is a cafeteria. But this park is not really famous and consequently not really... “developped”. So it's not really cool because there isn't a lot of attractions ! Actually I think that this park is especially for young children. On the other hand, if you want more informations you can go on this website : http://parc-auxois.fr/. Now, we are rapidly going to present you the park of the “Combes”. I think this is the most famous park of... Burgundy ! In this park there is a lot of attractions : some for the young children but there are “attractions of high sensations” (do people say it like that ?) too : fast, high... There is a train too, which takes you into the “heart of the nature” ♥ (because there is the forest around this park). To eat, there is picnic areas and restaurants. Unfortunatly it's just open from March to November. There is a really cool princip (unlike the fun fair), indeed you just pay at the entrance and then you can do all the attractions you want (well, it's more complicated, actually you have to pay a kind of “pass partout” but I'm not going to go into details...). I think there is a very famous attraction in the park of the “Combes” which is called the “Boomerang”, this is “russians mountains” ♥. If you want to see what people see when they are in... the wagons of these russians mountains, you can go on this website : https://translate.google.com/?hl=fr#fr/en/wagons. To conclude, once again, if you want more informations you can go on this internet site : http://www.familiscope.fr/sorties-famille/parcs-de-loisirs/parc-touristique-des-combes/#acces. Moreover, on this video you can see all the attractions and it present you the park of the “Combes” : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiYfanBbajw. However, there is a very famous amusement park near Burgundy, about 1h30 from DIJON, and we really wanted to talk you about this fabulous park ! So, this amusement park is one of the three most famous amusement parks of France : after Disney Land (that all of you certainly know) and the “Asterix's park”. This park is situated in Dolancourt. He was founded by two brothers. Someone told us one day that a little fun fair (of Dijon) went bankrupt. Consequently two brothers bought all the fairground attractions and they found Nigloland. (But I think it's a legend / an anecdote.) These brothers were called Patrice and Philippe Gélis. This amusement park dates of 1987. This park has a very famous mascot which is a kind of hedgehog. It's called Niglo. Furthermore, the name of th Park Nigloland is from the name of this mascot. This park welcomes more than 500 000 people by season. This is really impressive ! There is 37 attractions ♥ ! (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigloland) Nigloland is separated in four parts / four themes : the Canadian village, with, for example, the “Canadian river” and the “Grizzly”, the swiss village, with for example the “bobsleigh running”, the rock'n'roll village and, finally, the wonderful village, with for example the enchanted river.
The most recent fairground attraction is called the Alpina Blitz ! This is just awsome and wonderful ! If you want to see what you see if you do this, you can watch this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9FX-hf7PHQ . Impressive, isn't it ? The speed is 83km/h. This is the best attraction of this amusement park ! The second best attraction is the “spatiale experience” (well, this is the Péroline's ranking, because she went a lot of time in this park ! ♥). This is russian moutains in interspace ! Well, it's russian moutains in the dark (very sensational !) and you can see kinds of planets in the “sky” ☺. Since it's in the dark, I can't show you a video because you wouldn't see or feel the attractions ! ;) Then, once again according to Péroline, the third best attraction is “air meeting”. It's really really hard to explain... You're like a pilot, you are “in the sky” and YOU can choose your path. As I said, it's complicated to explain... This video explain better than me : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSQZbQxCIpo. To finish, the “Grizzli” is a very good attraction ! It's hard to descibe. It mesure 100m long and 15m high. It's “revolutionnary seating system” ;) . Here is the video of this attraction, you will understand better xhat I try to explain : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ChJfZLsy5o. Péroline's notice : I think that the Park Nigloland is a very very good park ! Indeed, each time, that was really great ! Moreover, there is not a long waiting line so it's cool ! To conclude I think it's one of the best entertainment park (in which I went...) ! ♥ You know now all about the entertainment parks of Burgundy, especially about Nigloland ! ♥ We are going to present you some famous places of Dijon which has got a long history. We are going to present you some famous places of Dijon which has got a long history. - The Darcy place: Darcy place is an 18th century place with a very typical French style called “haussmannien”.
