Providence is a town just a bit north of Hyrum, where our school is located. Many from our school live in Providence.
Providence Cave is in Providence Canyon, near the top of the mountain. The cave has many different areas. Some are the size of a football field. At the end of the last tunnel there are two huge rooms. Both are large enough to drive a bus through. The largest is called the Aggie Ballroom, named after the local University. I think it is about 200 feet deep and 25-30 feet high. The Aggie Ballroom is the end of the cave. Providence is a town just a bit north of Hyrum, where our school is located.
Hello everybody, In France, TV is pretty popular, we often watch it in the evening with our family, We used to watch US TV shows because french series are not really interesting. We are going to present you 2 popular tv shows that we enjoy !
They invite celebrities and they play crazy games. Cyril Hanouna and his team are really funny and they laugh a lot together. This show is unpredictable and we never know what's going to happened. Danse avec les stars: "Danse avec les stars" is a french TV show produced by TF1 production and BBC Worldwide France. In this show, there are 4 juries who judges danses between professional dancers and famous french celebrities. There are already 7 seasons ans it broadcasted on saturdays evenings at 9 PM. The presenters are Sandrine Quétier ( since the first season), Vincent Cerruti ( season 1 to 5), and Laurent Ournac ( since the last season? the season 6). The winner of the sixth season is LoÏc Nottet who is a belgian singer. French people are lazy : They are known grumpy and insatisfied people. Consequences : the strike ! Indeed, abroad according to hearsay, french workers haven't a really good reputation… In fact trades unions they agree a lot of rights to the workers especially the right to strike of which they take advantages of course ! Nevertheless, we will notice that even if we are supposed to work less than the other countries, France is one of the most productive country in the world. French people are dirty : In foreigners opinion, our hygiene is not very good. This idea comes from the Louis XIV era. At that time, people didn't wash them, so they used lots of perfumes to hide their unpleasant body odor. Now of course, it's not the fact anymore. The problem is that nowadays, foreigners tourists think so. Indeed, most of the time they know only brassery or underground in Paris which are not examples of cleanliness…. French people are rude : Foreigners often reproach us to be impolite, proud and haughty. We are supposed to be always unsatisfied and always compare foreign coutries with France which is soooo fantastic ! It's indeed what tourists notice in Paris where are stressed, cold and not very welcoming, it's because it's a big city… but France is not only Paris. On the contrary in the provinces especially in the country side, inhabitants are reputate for being warm and welcoming. French peoples are sofisticated and chic : It's completely true. Nothing more to say about this. Never whithout my béret and my baguette :
French people would wear a beret,a stripped jersey,a baguette and would drink wine. France is indeed one of the biggest bread consumer in the world. Moreover, France is famous for the quality of its wine. At last, this style of dressing was in fact very popular a few décades ago. But now habits have changed and it's old fashion. Nowadays, people can wear it only to have fun. We're going to introduce you what you could do, during your free time, in Dijon. Well, it's a quite broad subject because there are a lot of things to do but we're going to write about the funiest and the best of them ;) Indeed, we're not going to talk about the monuments to visit or boring activities, but entertaining and funny things ! It's rather, well... a personal opinion that we're going to give you ! I mean... We won't present you these things saying how it was built or something like that... Well let's begin. First, let's talk about the cinemas in Dijon ! There is many cinemas in Dijon. I think that the best and the most famous of them are the cinema “Cap Vert” (it's actually in a little town near Dijon, which is called Quetigny), the “Darcy” (which is in the downtown of Dijon) and the “Olympia” (which is in the town center too). They are the three most famous cinema of our town. The best of them, on our opinion, is the cinema “Cap Vert”. Indeed, it's the biggest of all the cinema. It has many big “room” (whereas the others cinema has smaller room). Moreover, there is a game room in the “basement” (to wait). There are many rooms to watch film consequently there is a big choice of films when you go there ! Moreover there are things to eat, as pop corn, candies and drinks ;) But there is the same things in the cinema in Utah too ;) Do you have big cinemas in or near your town ? ☺ If you want to see the website on which you can see the film which are showing in the cinema “Cap Vert” at the moment, you can go on this website : http://www.allocine.fr/seance/salle_gen_csalle=P0771.html . Olympic pool The Olympic pool was built not so long ago. Indeed it was open in may 2010 ! So it's quite recent. There is a very big swimming-pool but you just can make... swimming lengths (we're not sure it's the good word...) ! I mean... You can't play or something like that, if you go in this pol, you must swim and do... round trip (?). Nevertheless it's a 25 meter pool ! ;) But there is a second pool in which you can play ! And a third pool but it's for the baby and little children. ;) But there are other things too ! Indeed, there are two others sooo good places : one to relax and an other to do scuba diving ! ♥ There are two diving pools ! One of 6 meters and another of 20 meters ! And, when I say a place to relax, I mean that there are a hammam and a sauna ! The only negative point is that we have to wear a swimming cap :P . If you want more information about this swimming pool, you can go on this website, which is the website of the Olympic pool of Dijon : http://www.piscineolympique-dijon.fr/ . Do you have big swimming pool as this one near your town ? :D Ice Rink There is actually not a lot of things to say about the ice rink of Dijon... But now you know that there is a rink in Dijon ! There is two places to “ice skate” : one of 56 by 26 meters and an other smaller which measures 20 by 5 meters. There are sometimes “sport representations” as hockey or figure skating ! :D Do you like ice rink ? And do you have an ice rink where you can go ? « Laser Game » There are two laser games near Dijon, the most recent is the one near the cinema Cap Vert ! Laser game is a very cool and funny activities ! Do you know the principles of this game ? Explanations : the laser game is a game in which you must shoot on your opponent (it's not with bullets but lasers), alone or in team, to score the most of points ! You play in a kind of labyrinth where it's totally dark (except your equipment and some kind of paintings on the walls which are fluorescent). The one who score the most of points surely wins ! I personally love this game (but it's unfortunately quite expensive). We have still not gone in the new laser game (indeed, the one near the cinema Cap Vert was built recently) but it looks very cool (for example there are new things as traps which can make you loose 50 points !). If you want more information go on this website : http://www.lasergame-evolution.com/le-jeu/ . Did you know what a laser game was ? Do you have one in your town ? :D Skate Park You surely understood that it's a place where you can roller blade and skate ;) This skate park is “constituted” of a big round track of 150 meters and, at the middle of this track there is a place to roller blade on different installations as a wall and things like that… This place (with the installations) measure 80 by 36 meters. The decor is very beautiful, indeed there are kind of graffiti. There is a good atmosphere. There are many activities to do right there, as roller blading (“normal roller” or “roller street”), skating, ridding BMX (?)… More information on this website : http://www.dijon.fr/les-salles-stades-et-autres-equipements!0-167/les-autres-equipements-sportifs!1-124/le-dijon-skate-parc!6-107/ . Cime altitude 245”
Cime altitude 245 is called like that because it's located 245 meters above sea level. Cime Altitude is a place were you can climb. Indeed there are four big room, a principal one (which is high of about 12-13 meters and another wall high of 15 meters), a “bloc space” where you can climb without any protection (as without harness for example), a place of exchange (where you can have information about the activities proposed by Cime Altitude) and eventually a changing room (with showers). You can take courses or climb freely. Cime Altitude is very good and climbing is a really funny activities !
